The Geriatric and the Genocide
Elite conspiracy and inaction in the face of collapse
It is unfortunate that the word ‘conspiracy’ has in it an undertone of sedition. That the word is often used in conjunction with far flung plots or fictions that alter the meaning of how it is broadly understood, while simultaneously degrading its seriousness.
A conspiracy - neutrally described - is essentially the sum total of people acting in concert, knowing where the line is and when to cross it or not to cross it at all. When we continue daily life as normal, blocking out the part of our brain that knows of the certain impacts of climate change, border and neoliberal policy, and that people died either in the English Channel or US border deserts to escape those impacts this very week, we are participating in a small way in a conspiracy of normalcy in the face of collapse.
This though is, as I say, a conspiracy of normalcy; a conspiracy of the ordinary and of the majority, one generally pursued in the hope of the fairly modest goal of a dwelling and an ordinary life.
This version of a conspiracy is different to conspiracies of the powerful, which represent far greater moral failings with far worse consequences. The undeniable revelation probably all too late that Genocide “Joe” Biden has a brain entirely addled with dementia and confusion, is the result of a conspiracy of the powerful that has worked for years to deny the obvious: that the US President was suffering advanced cognitive decline, despite numerous videos and testimonies indicating as much to lay people who had neither medical credentials, nor regular direct contact with the man, to prove as much.
It is a revealing tragedy of the western world that Genocide “Joe" Biden is now judged unfit to hold office because his brain clearly does not function, and not because he with gusto has signed-off billions in the US bombs that have allowed the Israelis to kill tens of thousands of Palestinian children in Gaza. It is cognitive failure and not moral failure for which he will finally - just maybe - be judged.
The parallels between a geriatric Biden and the genocidal Israeli project in Palestine he has given his all to enable are striking. Both - certainly in Biden's apparent refusal to step aside - are zombie projects which insist on their course of action, impervious to reason, and despite the concomitant horrors and even likely self-destruction of the trajectory. There is now (and again as with the Israelis) among Atlanticist elites some necessary public soul-searching of the “How did this happen?” variety, which affirms questions must now be asked. But to anyone with even passing familiarity of politics it is obvious how this happened, and the problem now is not the media & political class not asking the probing questions they're not supposed to anyway, but the fact that Biden is so far gone as to reveal the fact that they didn't and never do. Again, as with Zionist policy in Palestine, the game has been pushed to and possibly through breaking point, so that we now see in full relief the corrupt impact of the coterie of hangers-on that make up our politics; the yes-men&women who can be relied on to lie to such extents that an emperor can indeed be left to stand their naked, confused and disorientated and still be said to be clothed and speaking clearly.
The same trait allows the same people to say that, with bodies strewn all through Palestine, the Israelis are taking humanitarian law seriously. The trait is nurtured among a cadre of “journalists” whose mantra is now practically to speak Power to Truth rather than the contrary, and whose years of expensive education represent more a signal of adherence and loyalty to a busted system than any attainment of intellectual or spiritual acumen.
It might be so that some think it unsympathetic to be too hard on an old man suffering dementia in a very public setting. His policies, gleefully pursued, prevented many Palestinian children knowing even their youth. His policies, unstinting, saw that many of his Palestinian peers, often older than the Israeli entity itself, died under sniper fire, or now know such unconscionable things as what it is to be mauled by an attack dog on an Israeli leash.
Neither Genocide “Joe" Biden nor the craven US entity he currently helms deserve any sympathy from any but the most charitable hearts, not least because the elite failure and corruption they represent will take all of us as either their targets or - if we're lucky - only as their collateral damage.
To clarify that all this moral rot, this willingness to lie, is not only a US affair, newly anointed UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, followed-up his NATO Summit meeting with Biden by saying that the older man was on good form. At the summit, Biden introduced Ukraine President, Vladirmir Zelensky, as Vladimir Putin. He followed up by referring to his US Presidential opponent, Donald Trump, as his vice president.
Biden will be remembered by history as a President who - whenever it is - left office humiliated, physically and mentally degraded, having just authorised and supplied the genocide that may yet see the end of the Israelis in Palestine.
Whether he has faculties or shame enough to realise as much and change his current course of action seems unlikely. We can however be sure that the moral corruption and institutionalised lying that the development of his condition while in office points to is - without the great urgency and anger it warrants - a decay that will certainly outlast him. Nor will it hesitate to attack or disregard still more of that which ordinary people hold dear, or rely on for their survival.
